Activities

Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is the natural habitat of species such as the endangered squirrel monkey (endemic to the area), white faced capuchin monkey, raccoons, three and two-toed sloths, white-nosed coaties, brown pelicans, black-collared hawks and green kingfishers.  They share the space with primary and secondary forests, bursting with cedars, bully trees, black locusts and silk cotton trees.  A mangrove swamp covers about 44.5 acres, adding to the biodiversity of the region.  Have an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through the park.  The guides know where you are most likely to encounter sloths, monkeys, etc. and they will also provide a great deal of information on the history, flora and fauna.  Guests may remain in the park after the tour visiting the beautiful beaches, hiking and exploring on their own.

Tocori Waterfall

This horseback riding tour is a half day, through a typical Costa Rican area called Villa Nueva, where you will have a good opportunity to see the local country side and jungle.  This tour is a 30-minutes drive from Quepos, and includes one hour riding. Also you may want to take a swim in a beautiful waterfall on the way so don’t forget your bathing suit.  For birdwatchers we recommend going in the afternoon for a better chance to see toucans and some other exotic birds.

Villa Vanilla Spice Plantation Tour

Villa Vanilla Spice Plantation is a sustainable organic spice farm in Costa Rica, certified organic and biodynamic which grows a variety of spices and essential oil plants, including vanilla, cocoa, and ceylon (true) cinnamon.  On the Spice Plantation Tour, the guide explains and identifies the various aromatic spices, medicinal plants, and essential oil plants to visitors.  The tour is a gentle walk through the plantation and is very sensory, with multiple stops for tasting and smelling along the way and includes the new “Flavors of the World” tasting - an assortment of gourmet spice treats and drinks prepared by their in-house pastry chef.

Dolphin Watch Tour

Marvel the mysterious islands with their jagged rock formation, towering cliffs and nesting grounds with numerous species of marine birds and their young while observing the various types of dolphins, and whales that frolic just beyond the islands.  Learn interesting facts about the National Park and history of Quepos Indians.

Canopy Safari - Tour

The Canopy Safari zip line tour of the rainforest is in Naranjito, a 45 minute bus ride.  Informative bilingual guides give an interesting historical perspective of the Quepos area on the bus ride to the Canopy Safari tour site which includes a few stops on the trip to check out local wildlife.

Cafe Milagro

Cafe Milagro opened its doors as a coffee roasting company in December of 1994 in Quepos and added a second location in Manuel Antonio when they converted one of the oldest homes in the area into a quaint casa del cafe (coffee house).
